Instalment details will most likely be chosen by the customer by using the Ratepay Instalment Calculator which has to be implemented in the shop/PSP frontend. Chapter Calculation Request explains how the installment calculation result of the CALCULATION_REQUEST maps to the installment details of the PAYMENT_REQUEST.

Instalment details transmitted by the shop during a PAYMENT_CHANGE will be ignored by the Gateway, because the new instalment plan will be calculated by the Ratepay backend system.
